And now, it is my turn to sell something I love dearly. I recently bought a Dior bag from the Spring RTW 2007 show. There was a sale in Sydney last Sunday and my knees buckled and I ended buying this bag. It was the 12th one ever made! It says so on the metal logo plate inside the bag!

I do love it to bits, but I'm falling quite behind on my credit card bill (sadface).

It's made of stingray leather... STINGRAY LEATHER! It's so beautiful and it sparkles in the light! There's also light studding on the bag which looks wonderful. And the handle for the wrist is a metal chain! I love it!

Dolce & Gabbana Shoes for sale

So, my friend is trying to sell her Dolce & Gabbana Oxford booties on eBay.

We went to the Luisa sale at the Sydney Hilton Hotel a few weeks ago and we persuaded her to buy the beautiful pair of shoes after a VERY long time. And now, she has realised that someone else will probably love the shoes more than her. So it's up at eBay now for a very reasonable price.

I love these shoes - I would've got a pair myself, but there was none left in my size.

The shoes come with the original box and dust bag. They have NEVER been worn (wow, I sound like an eBay ad - but it's all true).

Ok, this may look strange - but these are the images for the hair dyes I bought from eBay. The one on the right (from doll company, 'Blythe') has been photoshopped to hell, but apparently when you use this on black hair, I does NOT come out like that - it's more subtle pink.
The one on the right is called "jewelery ash" by Dariya Palty. Looks great.

Yay! We finally went back to Cosmopolitan Shoes at Double Bay today and I picked up my new Balenciaga peep-toe booties.

The lady who served me last week was very nice and friendly and said I could pick them up this week instead of when the sale actually finished (last weekend). However, this weekend, there were two other women there on the sales floor and they were complete posh b*tches. The first girl who had dirty blonde hair and blue/grey eyes looked me up and down to see my outfit (I was wearing my Chanel boots so I felt pretty worthy of being in there) and when I told her why I was there, she barked questions at me and when I presented my receipt from the last visit, her reply: "Well that would help".

The transaction was silent. Passing over the credit card, one woman processing the payment and one bagging the Balenciagas. There was so conversation at all, no "How has your day been?". Her 'thank you' was hardly meant, and as for a farewell - none.

Oh well, at least I have my Balenciagas!

CHANEL Gloves

Ok. I don't know HOW this happened! I was shopping one day (about a month ago) and I had this craving - that I have had before! - of buying some cool black leather fingerless gloves. And, of course, I always wanted a Chanel pair.

I decided to just have a little look inside the Chanel Boutique and was served by this really nice and friendly guy called Paul. He showed me the small range of gloves they had and one in particular made me swoon! And, for those who know me well, once I swoon, I almost MUST buy!

Paul was nice and told me to just go away and think about it. So I did.

A day later, they were mine.

So I contacted Matches in London and bought a pair of Christian Louboutin 868 Decollete pumps! In my size! I returned the other pair back to David Jones and now I have the style I always wanted!

First YAYA'S Meet of '09

Woohoo! We all finally got together for the first time in 2009 for a YAYA'S Reunion! And, as always, it was a day of feasts, fast-talking, trying to exercise the feast off and lots and lots of catching up.

When everyone had all arrived (Nina, Diane, Kit and I had met up first at Diane's house to drive to the local Korean store for snacks) Chai couldn't hold back anymore and came bursting in with the gifts she had bought us from her trip to the Philippines. They were so cute! Paddle pop ice-cream soft toys! Weeee~!

After a very long time, we finished feasting (yeah, we're pretty messy -- and can eat A LOT) we all lazed around in the living room in front of the TV watching Fashion TV and feeling pretty envious of the models >_<
Then, Chai's sister and her husband came to the house and brought along their little baby boy! New born! So cute! His name is Jonathan Joseph (I think -- and hope?)

Afterwards, we booked tickets to watch 'He's Just Not That Into You' and headed out.

When the movies was done, I drove us all back to Chai's house and we all chatted until 2am - laughing our heads off! Then, home time.

Valentine's Day Doings

With Valentine's Day came our Valentine's Day shopping! Since it was all rainy and ugh that day, we couldn't do what we had planned (picnic at Botanical Gardens, walk along the wharf at Woollomooloo), so we settled for walking around the city and shopping!

We first went to Capitol and tried our luck with their claw machines, but failed - so off to Prize Paradize we go! They had a promotion going on: if you and your partner kiss between the 9th and 15th of Feb, you get a free toy! So we did it - and got this:

Then, we walked around and played a few claw machine games and won these!

AKA (the Chinese-run, Japanese cosmetics store) was our next destination and la boyfriend bought me something from here (I finally got something for here after constantly visiting and never buying!).

At this random Asian store, my boyfriend pointed out this great grey wool coat that will be perfect for winter! I tried it on and loved it!

Then, after some more walking, we visited the Harajuku store (run by Koreans >_<) and I found a pair of shorts that were HIGHLY reminiscent of the pair I wanted from Alexander Wang! I tried to leave the store as I knew if I tried it on, I would want it! But my boyfriend was persistent and got me to have a go.
They were a tad too big, but I, again, was in love! After a (long) while, he caved and bought them for me (as an I.O.U - I have many of them)

We had our dinner reservations at Newtown's 'Atom Thai' and oh goodness! It must have been one of the best ever restaurants I have ever been to! Not only was the food delicious, but the staff were the friendliest bunch I've met! They cater to your every need and make you feel extremely cheerful every minute of your dining time! YOU must go there (130 King St, Newtown)!

Valentine's Day

Ahh Valentine's Day! All the chocolate and present preparing for this beautiful day!

On the Tuesday before Feb 14, I started making chocolate truffles for my wonderful boyfriend! I made an assorted bunch, which consisted of chocolate hazelnut, basic, toffee, white chocolate pistachio, hazelnut praline chocolate truffles.

A few days later, I was done with the chocolates and I packaged them up as prettily as I could, wrapped them up and put them in the fridge.

During my chocolate making, when I had the time (as the chocolate had to harden slightly before I could mould them) I went to the local custom framing place (Prima Art).

As my boyfriend told me he wanted one of the prints I made of Nina's hearts design, I decided to get it nicely framed to put up on his wall once he moves out.

Also, last year for his birthday, I blew up 231 balloons (one for each day I had known him) and filled his room with them. Up to the 10th of Feb, they had stayed in his room, deflating ever so slowly. Finally, we popped them (he is VERY scared of the sound balloons make when they pop, so this process was hilarious!) and I took them to my place. I stuck all of them onto a canvas and got them framed as well.

Back from holidays

Finally back in Sydney!

My boyfriend and I just came back last night from Queensland, Surfers Paradise after spending 3 nights there over the weekend. There were so many bumps in our travel!

1. Our flight to Queensland was delayed by an hour
2. We got some food poisoning
3. Saturday was raining all day
4. We didn't get to go to White Water World
5. Our flight home was delayed by an hour

However, these negatives didn't surpass the positives in our trip!

After missing my package yesterday morning - because the courier didn't know how to press a doorbell - DHL finally successfully delivered my net-a-porter.com purchase at around 11am. I quickly opened the box to find my Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti Lace silk babydoll dress folded inside. (I also found, to my discontent, that net-a-porter.com, once again, did not put the dress inside a net-a-porter black box like they did once before. And after paying almost $900 for a non-sale item, you would think they would wrap it up nicely.

Anyway, I tried on the dress and the straps were an inch too long. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful dress and I'll post photos of it on when I wear it out on Tuesday night for my boyfriend and I's one year anniversary.

Last Wednesday (24th of September), I finally made my third purchase from Topshop.com!

I originally wanted the Navy Fur Gilet by Kate Moss for Topshop, but I put it off for too long and it sold out :(

So I opted for the Stripe Fur Gilet (£50.00):

Pleather: P-Leather; Plastic leather, fake leather.

What is with those girls out there who so desperately want to be 'cool' and 'stylish', and purchase an overpriced jacket made to look like leather, but if you read the little white tag with the washing directions, it states it is 100% polyester!

I recently saw a pleather jacket in Myer (brand: Piper - a brand that rips off the rip-offs, like Country Road) and guess how much it cost? $190!! For polyester!!!

It looks cheap and trashy - and it makes people look like wannabes! They wish to look just like the models backstage - street style. Yet they just look stupid because they wasted their money on a fake. It just goes to show that they really are just wannabes.

CHANEL Fall RTW 2007

Okay, so everyone remembers the Fall 2007 Ready-to-wear CHANEL collection, right? The crimped, veiling hair that covered a naturally made-up face of a model in a 'college-girl in cold weather' inspired outfit?

If, by chance, you do not remember this collection, here are some images to refresh your memory:

Now that you remember, you should also be reminded of those boots! Yes, those beautiful buckle cut-out boots that found themselves over jeans for a casual look - then over some tights for a more evening look. Here are some detailed close-up shots of them:

Well, I loved these boots so much that I bought a pair! These boots retail for $US 1595 - they were well worth it! I love them to death! The leather is so soft and the cut of them are perfect! They make heads turn everywhere and receive compliments from many fashion forwards (and others alike).

However, things turned sour when my boyfriend and I were walking along the wharf at night on the 5th of April, 2008. Due to gaps between the rough, wooden planks, my toe got caught and the tip of the boot was scraped and the soft, supple leather was scathed and torn! (Work of the evil Demon King no doubt!)

Obviously, we were both shocked and saddened by this incident (my boyfriend is also very much into fashion and knows his stuff - one of the endless list of things I love about him!) so he vowed to take me to the CHANEL boutique the next day to see if they could fix it in any way.

Sooki, the sales assistant that served us, was very helpful and assured us that they would send my boots to their boot repairer to have them revived. She handed me the receipt (cost: to be confirmed - eek! does not sound good!), and we left feeling at ease that my boots were in good hands. :)

New Dedication Found

After months and months of neglecting this blog, I have finally been inspired to continue to make frequent posts about fashion, my style, interests and perhaps even personal issues (though not too personal! ><")

Where this new found inspiration came from, I have no clue! But, from here on in, I will try to post a new topic at least once every one to two days.

I hope I can keep it up!! ^_^

Spring/Summer 2008 RTW Highlights

From New York, Milan, London to Paris - I have handpicked my favourite pieces from the recent ss08 catwalks. I must say, they did not impress me as much as I would have liked. Even though Chanel was wonderful as usual - I expected more - much more. Marc Jacobs ... yes, he did do something different with his line, but how could you even wear any of it? The shoes were fun and unique, I would have to see for myself if they were at all wearable.

I want those shoes SO BADLY! I am definitely getting my hands on a pair of those once they hit the shelves!

MARC JACOBS

I thought Nina Ricci was wonderful! Olivier Theyskens (designer) did an absolutely magnificent job at creating such unique, wearable, ... I'm speechless! I loved the collection to bits!

Models: Gemma Ward Edition

Her baby doll appearance got her associated with titles that described her as a gorgeous alien. Fellow Australian (I am too!), Gemma Ward has topped the chart at models.com and is one of the top 10 earning models - earning a cool $3 million a year! She took time out from modelling earlier in the year to pursue her acting career - but we got to see her back on the runway at the end of the Fall 07 Runways (Chanel, Alexander McQueen, etc.).

Karl Lagerfeld took a particular interest in Gemma.

Balenciaga Edition:

Balenciaga's s07 Shoes have had a huge part in creating a revolution in shoe design. Love them or hate them, the collection have been making headlines as people such as Mary-Kate Olsen have been stomping around in the designs. Though people have dubbed them hideous and utterly unwearable, they have sold out across the globe - making one of the few and only places to buy them, eBay.

[from earlier season] The, what I like to call, Motorcycle Ankle Boots. I found a pair my size on eBay a few weeks ago by sheer luck. However, the seller had to take the auction down because they were going away for a while and wouldn't be able to respond to anything (that's what they say, but I have a feeling it's because they may have been a fraud!)

The 'Cork' Shoe - ALMOST bought these. eBay sniper cut across though and put a bid in the last few seconds. Lucky though - they were a size too big (37.5). I almost paid $1.3k for them.

... And the one that utterly fell in LOVE with - the TANK platform! Saw this one on eBay as well - but a size 39 or something. I'm a 36.5! 37 max!

Never one to be a miss in the style stakes - Romanian model/Canadian-raised Irina Lazareanu (age 25) is considered to be one of the top, most asked for model. She is the muse for Marc Jacobs and Lagerfeld loves her. Irina was the ex-drummer for the English band, Babyshambles and her own album with Sean Lennon is set to be released soon. Her individuality and unique bohemian personality, along with her beautifully thin physique makes Irina Lazareanu a face to be remembered as one of the best models in history. And don't forget - she broke records when she was the first to walk 76 catwalks in ONE season!
